Special flights for Aus citizens travelling to Australia

April 26: Australian High Commission has arranged special flights in conjunction with Qatar airways to assist their citizens who are stuck in India to travel back to Sydney. The flights shall take off on 28th and 29th of April 2020 from 4 major cities namely New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. While the flights from Mumbai and Kolkata have been arranged on 28th April 2020, For people flying from Chennai & New Delhi, it has been arranged on 29th April 2020.

Subjected to the filling of minimum capacity Qatar Airways has agreed to fly Australian citizens to Doha, Qatar from where special flights have been arranged to Sydney.

Australian High Commissioner Designate Barry O’Farrel made this special announcement on 24th of April . Those who have booked their tickets have to follow a special procedure and fill a form in the Australian High Commission website answering questions to enable them get necessary passes and green channels to help them travel to the airports and from there onwards.

This has been one of the very few engagements that has been allowed by Government of India to allow citizens from other countries to travel back.
