The once 2 republics Yemen Arab Republic (North Yemen) and Peoples Democratic Republic of Yemen (South Yemen) integrated into one sovereign country in 1990. However, the country fell into crisis with a deepening civil war between the Sunnis supported by Saudi Arabia and Shia Houthis supported by Iran.

The country’s Economy is mainly Petroleum and Natural Gas. However, Agriculture also plays an important role in the GDP of the country.
