
About Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka, officially known as the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, is an island country in South Asia. Previously known as Ceylon during the British Rule this island country shares a strong border, culture, history, and mythology with India. The country was subjected to Civil War against LTTE which ended in 2009.
The economy of Sri Lanka has largely been Agriculture and spices & tea has been the major export. However, the country has also been subjected to the industrialization of agricultural products and textiles and the services industry has been booming with many Srilankan’s working in Europe and the Middle East.
