About Cyprus

Cyprus is also known as the Republic of Cyprus is an island nation in the Mediterranean Sea just off the coast of Turkey. The country though close to Asia is a European Country and part of the European Union. Cyprus was earlier controlled by the United Kingdom but has border rows with Turkey.

The country’s economy is predominantly tourism. However, due to its free trade economy and tax haven policies, it is also a spot for wealthy Europeans to park their money. Shipping also plays an important part in the economy.
