Mali, officially known as the Republic of Mali is a landlocked country in West Africa. Being a French Colony, it is the eighth-largest country in Africa, but one of the poorest countries of the world.

The economy of the country is driven primarily by agriculture with cotton being the largest crop. However, rice, millet, corn, tobacco, etc., are grown too. The mining industry also thrives in the country with Gold being mined and exported. Mali has the third-largest gold deposits in Africa
