Turkey is officially known as the Republic of Turkey is a nation that joins Europe and Asia and has been playing an important role in trade relations between Asia and Europe right from the days of pre-colonization. The capital city Istanbul also previously known as Constantinople has both the European side and the Asian Side to it. This city has played an important and strategic role during the 14th century as a trade route between India and Europe. The shutdown and capture of this city by the Ottoman Turks triggered many explorers such as Vasco da Gama, Bartolomeo Diaz and Christopher Columbus to explore sea routes to India and the finding of America.

Turkey commands the top 20 positions as Largest GDP in the world. The major sectors in turkey are Automotive industry, Shipping, Oil, Banking, oil refining, mining, and machine industry.

Tourism also plays an important role in the economy due to its historical importance, geographical placement as well as nice beaches
