Belgium, officially known as the Kingdom of Belgium is a Western European country. It is a Sovereign State and a federal constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system. The country has 3 primary regions, the Walloons, the Flanders and the Brussels Capital Region.

Belgium is one of the countries where the industrial revolution took place in the 17th and 18th centuries. It also had its own colonies in Congo and Guatemala.

Economically, Belgium is a developed country with an advanced high-income economy. The quality of life, health care, education, human development index is very high. It is also ranked as one of the most reputed, most peaceful and safest places to live.

The Belgian economy is heavily service-oriented and strongly supports an open economy. The industry segments are in chemical, diamond, and petroleum.
