Visit of External Affairs Minister to Denmark

May 23: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar (EAM) visited Denmark on 20 & 21 May 2025.

EAM called on Prime Minister H.E. Ms. Mette Frederiksen and briefed her on developments in the Green Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark. They also discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest. EAM conveyed India’s deep appreciation for Denmark’s solidarity and support in combating terrorism.

EAM also called on Speaker of the Danish Parliament H.E. Mr. Søren Gade. They discussed strengthening bilateral relations including in parliamentary exchanges and people-to-people ties.

EAM held a detailed meeting with Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen. The two Ministers reviewed bilateral relations in depth and exchanged views on regional and global issues. The Ministers decided to maintain close touch during Denmark’s ongoing membership of the United Nations Security Council for the term 2025-2026.

EAM also met Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs H.E. Mr. Morten Bødskov and discussed avenues for enhanced trade and investment relations between India and Denmark. Interest of Danish companies to work in the renewable energy, shipping, health and other green sectors was welcomed, along with greater Danish investment in India, especially in sectors enabling the green transition.

EAM also met representatives of the vibrant Indian community in Denmark.
