RTPCR tests are mandatory for international passengers from January 1st

Dec 29: RTPCR tests are mandatory for international passengers travelling from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand, to India before departure. The COVID-negative RTPCR test report must be uploaded on the Air Suvidha portal by the beginning of January 2023. The test should have been conducted within 72 hours of the journey to India.

Irrespective of the port of departure. This requirement is an addition to the random 2% testing of all international passengers on all international flights on arrival to India.

The procedure is being undertaken because of the resurging COVID-19 situation across the world, particularly in the aforesaid countries.
