CDTI organised a virtual workshop on ‘Counter Radicalization’

Feb 04: The Ministry of External Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Home Affairs [Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) jointly with its outlying training unit, the Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI)] organised a virtual workshop on ‘Counter Radicalization’ on 02-03 February 2023. The workshop was organised under the framework of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

The virtual workshop was addressed by Shri Mahaveer Singhvi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs; Shri Neeraj Sinha, Addl. Director General, BPR&D; and Shri Anurag Kumar, Director, BPR&D. Invited speakers shared their expertise on various topics including radicalization and extremism; the rise of fundamentalism and its global impact; misuse of social media as a tool for radicalization; models of de-radicalization; and radicalization & international terrorism.

Representatives from several CICA Member States including, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Türkiye, Uzbekistan and Vietnam participated in the virtual workshop.
