Sweden Embassy in India Issues advisory against fraud calls

Jun 1: Today Sweden Embassy in New Delhi, India issued an advisory against an ongoing fraud activity regarding visa applications in the name of the embassy.

The embassy said “It has come to our attention that Indian students in Sweden have been contacted regarding their residence permit applications. The callers have claimed to be calling from the Swedish Embassy in New Delhi” 

They further clarified that “Applications for residence permits (including extensions) are handled by the Swedish Migration Agency and not the Swedish Embassy. The Migration Agency and the Swedish Embassy would never ask for additional fees or money over the phone. If receiving doubtful phone calls, kindly contact the Swedish Migration Agency or the Swedish Embassy.”
